[MICHELIN DISTINCTION] — SOI 38
[POST-ANNOUNCEMENT HEADLINE]
Soi 38 is proud to be recognised by The MICHELIN Guide as part of its inaugural South Australian selection.
For more than a decade, we have explored the food of Thailand through the produce and landscape of South Australia. This recognition marks an extraordinary moment in the story of Soi 38; and we would love you to experience it with us.
Grounded in Tradition. Unconventional in approach.
Soi 38 began in Adelaide in 2014, inspired by Bangkok’s famous Sukhumvit Soi 38 street food market.
What started as a place to share Thai dishes rarely found on Adelaide menus has evolved into a distinctly South Australian expression of Thai dining.
Today, owner and Executive Chef Terry Intarakhamhaeng draws from regional Thai traditions, family recipes and historical food culture, bringing them together with exceptional South Australian produce, native ingredients and contemporary technique.
Chef Terry Intarakhamhaeng
Thailand at heart. South Australia on the plate.
Thai-Australian chef Terry Intarakhamhaeng has taken an unconventional path to the kitchen.
His story has included time as a Buddhist monk, trekking through remote parts of Thailand, environmental education and working alongside Jock Zonfrillo as part of the teams that established Street ADL and Restaurant Orana.
Those experiences continue to shape the way Terry cooks today: with curiosity, restraint, minimal waste and a deep respect for both Thai culinary tradition and the ingredients of South Australia.
At Soi 38, Terry leads a kitchen interested not simply in recreating Thai food, but in exploring what Thai cooking can become when it belongs to this place.
[Our Distinction] in The Michelin Guide
Soi 38 was awarded [EXACT MICHELIN DISTINCTION] in the inaugural MICHELIN Guide selection for South Australia.
[INSERT MICHELIN'S PUBLISHED COMMENTS / SHORT PARAPHRASE OF INSPECTOR COMMENTS]
For Terry and the Soi 38 team, the recognition represents more than an accolade. It is recognition of the years spent learning, questioning, refining and creating a restaurant that is unmistakably Thai and unmistakably South Australian.

Experience Soi 38
There is no single way to experience Soi 38, however, for the full Soi 38 experience, we recommend Tour of Thailand. This is our signature tasting menu and the most complete expression of Chef Terry Intarakhamhaeng’s cooking.
You can find our full menu options here.
From Thailand to South Australia
South Australian produce has become part of the language of Soi 38.
Our menus change with the seasons and with what our growers, fishers and producers bring us. Australian native ingredients sit naturally alongside Thai flavours, allowing the food to remain grounded in its origins while expressing where we are.
